City Council meeting this Tuesday, April 7 at 630PM.
On the agenda includes the City Staff recommendation to City Council:
“THAT the City-owned surplus property, municipally known as 791 Arundel Street … be sold to Terralux … for $2,159,000 for a multi residential development, subject to conditions like zoning approval and site plan agreements… AND THAT the Director be authorized to complete all documents to finalize the transaction.”
If Council votes NO or delays:
• The sale can slow down or stop
• Council keeps control over what happens next
If Council votes YES:
• The City is committing to move ahead with this development
Even though there are still steps like rezoning approvals, those come after. This vote is what pushes the project forward in a real and serious way. This is one of the last important opportunities for Council to change direction.
This is a critical moment for our neighbourhood. 791 Arundel has been a cherished park space for decades. It is more than just land, it is part of our neighbourhood, our daily lives, and our shared history.
Email our Councillors to let them know you oppose the sale of Our Park for the development of high-rise apartment buildings. It can be short. Just let them know.
