As of April 7, 2026, we now know that all three of the proposed developments are from the same developer. The conceptual proposals submitted to City Council as part of the report regarding the sale of the three parcels, have not changed from what you see on our website. Unfortunately, these conceptual proposals fail to provide the public with any real information, and neither does the report submitted to Council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have difficulty fathoming the proposed number of units, given the contraints of the City’s own Zoning By-laws. Newer apartment builds throughout the city only have 62 – 70 units per building. How then, can these proposed developments have more than double or triple that number?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City’s “Call for Proposals” form requires that a developer submit a “concept outline”. This outline is to include “a detailed narative description of the proposed project”, and “a rudimentary sketch of the project”, among other requirements including timelines and any proposed phasing of the build. Unfortunately, none of that information has been provided to the public nor has the City provided answers to the questions many of us submitted requesting those details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
